We are able to considerably boost efficiency by performing just a single clamping operation when performing work steps such as turning, milling, drilling and thread cutting on CNC turning-milling machines. This means that tolerances in the 1/100 mm range can be achieved. This results in short throughput times, low stocks and low costs for equipment and production. We are the first company in the world to introduce CNC pendulum stroke grinding machines for the purpose of fully-automated grinding of large crankshafts up to 8 m in length. The crankshaft is tensioned on the centre of the axis and the oscillating grinding wheel follows the movement of the big end bearing journal. The roundness, diameter, dresser correction values and temperature differences are recorded online and corrected. The reproducible tolerances are in the 1/1,000 mm range, enabling us to produce large crankshafts up to 8 m in length as part of a highly automated and efficient process.
