Large crankshafts are defined using detailed customer specifications. Our engineering divisions transfer these requirements into our 3D CAD system and check with the customer whether optimisation is possible in areas such as the geometry, the materials and the surface treatment. At the request of the customer, we also offer laboratory experiments for the simulation of critical processes. Following customer approval, the ready-to-install crankshaft is defined with all parameters as a 3D model. This basic data is used in designing the die, the device and the tool, planning the production, creating the additional drawings for production and providing data for the CAM system.
The 3D model of the crankshaft forging is derived from the data model of the completed crankshaft.
With the help of the CAD/CAM interface and the CNC programming, the 3D model of the forging is used to generate the milling programs for the die.
