A good "press" ...
... for large ALFING crankshafts

At ALFING crankshaft forgings over 4,200 mm in length are produced on a huge 3,500 tonne press.

In throw-by-throw forging, the crankshaft spindle is partially heated in the area to be forged. The spindle is first axially upset and then the crankpin is formed by vertical offsetting.

Throw-by-throw forging at ALFING:

  • up to 13,000 kg forging weight
  • up to 1,000 mm enveloping circle
  • up to 9,000 mm long
