Under one roof ...
... large crankshafts from ALFING

ALFING has deliberately chosen to carry out all steps of the crankshaft manufacturing process "under one roof".
The quality of a crankshaft depends to a large extent on the quality of the crankshaft forging. Over the decades we have developed our own forging competence, becoming a worldwide technological benchmark for crankshaft forging. After all the quality of our products is – and will always remain – what characterizes ALFING. And our customers know this.

Procedure for producing crankshaft forgings:

  • 3D model of the crankshaft; development, simulation
  • Manufacture of the dies and tooling
  • Forging
    • Die forging
    • HfH forging (throw-by-throw forging)
    • TR forging (with Tadeusz Rut tools)
  • Heat treatment

For these forging processes ALFING uses up-to-date forging equipment:

  • Counterblow hammers
  • Forging presses
  • Pre-forging presses
  • Heat treatment furnaces
  • Quenching in oil, water or air
  • Sandblasting
  • Ultrasonic testing
  • Crack detection
  • Laboratories for testing the mechanical properties
