From the early days of motoring, Karl Kessler dedicated himself to the manufacture and improvement of crankshafts.
This is the basis of ALFING's nearly one hundred years of experience with crankshafts and on which our production divisions are based:
More powerful crankshafts increase engine efficiency, save resources and lower the energy consumption. Continuously improved engine performance and higher demands for system efficiency require further increases in crankshaft performance. To satisfy these demands, ALFING also became a specialist in the surface treatment of crankshafts. All the required surface treatment processes are available on site and we have developed and patented new processes tailored to individual needs.
Based on knowledge of the importance of the inductive hardening process, for over 50 years ALFING has had its own induction hardening equipment division. Currently more than 90 % of customer demands can be satisfied by one of the modular systems:
Everything else is custom developed.
For the inductors which are need, ALFING naturally has its own inductor development and production department in Aalen.
This crankshaft competence is unique in the world
Whether powerful diesels for Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), high-speed units for Formula One, stationary engines for power generation or maritime diesels for "optimal continuous output" – we can deliver what the customer requires from his crankshaft.
In addition our customers also expect us to provide development support, process reliability, manufacturing quality, fatigue strength, low wear, improved performance ...
... and ALFING crankshaft competence extends to these areas too.
