Customer and Supplier Day

On 30th June Maschinenfabrik ALFING Kessler GmbH celebrated its centenary together with customers, suppliers, representatives from politics and industry. In the afternoon guests were given tours of the ALFING and Fachsenfeld Castle, where the reception was also held in the evening.

A highlight on the agenda was the visit of Minister President Kretschmann and Landrat Pavel who were shown briefly around the ALFING forge, apprentice training department and the large crankshaft production shop. After the tour of the company, the visit continued at nearby Fachsenfeld Castle where the prominent guests were welcomed by the former Mayor of Aalen, Ulrich Pfeifle, in his capacity as “Lord of the Castle”, and by the current Mayor, Martin Gerlach. In the former outbuildings of the castle the Minister President delivered a 30 minute speech to the guests with the key topics:

  • In praise of the Ostalb
  • 100 years ALFING
  • The future of mobility
  • Moving times

This was followed by a one-hour lecture by trend researcher and futurologist Matthias Horx on “The Power of Mega Trends”.

After dinner the event finished up in the castle garden, where ALFING had organised a stunningly illuminated exhibition of automotive and large crankshafts as well as photographs of products and the production.
